IBJJF Hall of Famer and World Champion Gabi Garcia will be looking to extend her no-loss MMA streak to five when she takes on the 53-year-old Shinobu Kandori at the Rizin Fighting World Grand Prix 2017 on December 29 – 31.
Garcia is 21 years Kandori’s junior.
This isn’t the first time Garcia has fought someone significantly older than herself. Last December, at Rizin 4, the 95kg World Champion took on Yumiko Hotta, now 50.
So far, Garcia has earned all of her wins via finish. Two of her wins came from a submission (an Americana and arm bar) and two came from a TKO. Her last fight ended in a No Contest due to an eye poke.
