He’s a benevolent warrior king, after all.
Just a few days ago, sport BJJ promotion SubStars announced a card of serious competitors, including Gordon Ryan, Keenan Cornelius, Garry Tonon, Dustin Poirier, and Rafael Lovato Jr. for a night of high level jiu-jitsu and, apparently, sumo.
Today, Ryan advertised that he’ll be donating 100% of his earnings via ticket sales to the We Defy Foundation.
The We Defy Foundation helps combat veterans, military and law enforcement, by giving them “long term means to overcome their challenges through Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and fitness training.” The group services individuals with both mental and physical disabilities relating to their service, giving some the means to rehab and reclaim after serious injuries and others resources to cope with depression and PTSD.
