IBJJF Releases Update On Membership Extensions After Season Freezes Due To COVID-19

The IBJJF was among the first grappling organizations to announce postponements and cancelations of their events when COVID-19 began to spread throughout the world. As weeks and weeks’ worth of events continued to be canceled, many athletes have wondered what the status of their annual membership would be when IBJJF competitions started back up again, and now, we have an answer.

Yesterday, the organization released a statement explaining how membership extensions would be calculated once its events resumed:

The announcement will hopefully bring some peace of mind to competitors concerned that their membership fee for the year would go to waste. While it’s still uncertain when the IBJJF will resume hosting events, members can at least rest easy knowing they won’t be paying for a membership they aren’t currently allowed to use.
