Miesha Tate: ‘I’m fighting better girls’ than Rousey’

With her latest victory against Jessica Eye at UFC on FOX 16 this past July, Miesha Tate earned herself another opportunity to take a shot at Ronda Rousey, the currently undisputed and women’s bantamweight champion. The UFC however had other plans, scheduling Rousey instead to fight Holly Holm in Australia (UFC 193), while Tate was instead scheduled to face off with Amanda Nunes. Tate has refused to fight Nunes however, and expressed her frustration with the UFC and they go about matching opponents against each other.

Tate is adamant that Rousey was supposed to be her next logical opponent, and insisted that she is currently fighting more formidable opponents than the champion Rousey is being made to face. In somewhat of a Limbo regarding the next step in her career, Tate is insistent on at the very least getting agreements regarding fights in writing as opposed to making verbal contracts that are easily broken.
