Montana De La Rosa Gets POTN By Armbar, Calls Out Paige VanZandt

One UFC 234 Performance of the Night boost went to rising flyweight Montana De La Rosa on February 9th, after the 23-year-old fighter and BJJ instructor submitted opponent Nadia Kassem by a gorgeous 2nd round armbar. And then, appropriately, made clear she deserves to be paid like the winner she is.

The dominant, grappling-heavy performance by De La Rosa was her third victory in as many fights, and warrants her post-fight callouts of Paige VanZandt on social media and Submission Radio.

Montana also didn’t mince words about her current contract.

“I’m not where I want to be financially,” she told Submission Radio. “If I’m going to be on the Pay-Per-View I might as well getting paid what the Pay-Per-View fighters get paid. I’m 3-0 in the division…that’s the most wins any of the girls have in the division.”

Amen, girl. Worth noting that the UFC, despite the fact that the promotion has released multiple clips of the male fighters at 234, has still yet to post a single clip of their Performance of the Night submission by a woman. It’s almost like they value their women fighters less even when they win or something.
