Another member of the Gracie family has had a successful MMA fight. Neiman Gracie (son of Carla Gracie and nephew to Renzo Gracie) was victorious in his Bellator 213 appearance against Ed Ruth in Honolulu. The two were competing in the quarterfinals of a welterweight grand prix.
Gracie went hard on submission attempts throughout the fight, but Ruth was able to either evade or narrowly escape most of them.
In the fourth round, though, Gracie was able to take his opponent down and secure the back, sinking in a rear naked choke. Ruth tapped at the 2:17 mark, sending Gracie to the semi-finals of the welterweight grand prix.
