Next BJJ Stars Event To Feature Leandro Lo, Nicholas Meregali, & More

Leandro Lo

The last BJJ Stars event was a dazzling display of technique and power from some of jiu-jitsu’s most elite competitors (and, you know, one instance of Erberth Santos running off the mats and starting a now-infamous brawl). Now, the first few competitors for the next competition have been announced, and you’ll want to make sure you’re watching when they take the stage.

In an Instagram post, the promotion announced that they’d be hosting an eight-man open class, and while three competitors have yet to be announced, we know five that will be in the running for the nearly $27,000 first prize.

Leandro Lo, Fellipe Andrew, Lucas Barbosa, Nicholas Meregali, and Patrick Gaudio are all confirmed to be on the card, and we may see a few rematches given that many of these athletes have already competed against each other at the black belt level. In fact, Barbosa faced (and defeated) both Andrew and Lo at Pans earlier this year on his way to the top of the podium, and both competitors will naturally be looking to turn the tables on him this time around.

BJJ Stars: Grand Prix Super 8 Open Class will take place on October 26 of this year. The Jiu-Jitsu Times will provide updates on this event as they become available.
