UFC fighter and accomplished BJJ athlete Rafael dos Anjos has earned the fourth degree on his black belt from Philipe Della Monica.
The martial artist shared the good news on social media today:
Della Monica also celebrated the milestone for his student and friend, sharing a photo of the two from years back and saying, “Honored to promote @rdosanjosmma to fourth degree black belt. Rafael has always been a great inspiration to me. Thank you for the trust, and for letting me be part of your journey, my brother.”
Though dos Anjos has primarily focused on his MMA career in recent years, he had an impressive colored belt career on the BJJ mats, winning Worlds as a purple belt and even medaling at Euros as a black belt back in 2006. He’s currently slated to fight Islam Makhachev at UFC 254 on October 24.
