Rolando Samson competes in jiu-jitsu tournaments, while studying at college full time. Renown for his high octane style and clinical finishes, Samson made his mark on the Purple Belt Lightweight Division, by coming first in many respected WPJJC and IBJJF tournaments.
Samson is living proof that it is possible to balance college work with high level jiu-jitsu training. This sets a good example for children who practice jiu-jitsu, because it shows that you don’t have to sacrifice your education to achieve impressive results. Samson claims that going to college has opened his mind, and given him better social skills than many other full time martial artists.
