For Those Of You Who Still Care, CM Punk Is Making His Debut At UFC 203 . . . Maybe

CM Punk, who’s been riding a 0-0 MMA record since 2014, is finally ready to get his feet wet . . . maybe!

The former pro-wrestler announced on Thursday morning that he will be facing middleweight Mickey Gall at UFC 203 on September 10.

Gall, who is riding a 2-0 professional record, was supposed to face Punk (whose real name is Phil Brooks) earlier, but the former wrestler had to pull out due to an injury.

Though Punk has been training with Duke Roufus for years now, his lack of MMA experience has led many in the mixed martial arts community to question the decision to give him a shot in the world’s biggest MMA promotion.  His fight against Gall will therefore be a chance to prove his critics wrong.

UFC 203 will be headlined by a heavyweight championship bout between Stipe Miocic and Alistair Overeem.  It will be broadcast live from the Eksperten Quick Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio and in Denmark as well.
