UFC Trying To Recruit Fighters To Take On Cris Cyborg And Fill Shallow Featherweight Division

This UFC is having a hard time finding opponents for its reigning Women’s Featherweight Champion Cris “Cyborg.” In fact, on May 22, the promotion is holding an Ultimate Fighter casting call in order to recruit women for the 145-pound division. The call will take place in Las Vegas.

According to the UFC website, in order to qualify:

1. You must be available on May 22, 2018 to attend live tryouts at: Palace Station and Casino, 2411 W. Sahara Avenue, Las Vegas, NV 89102. Applicants will be required to grapple and hit pads – PLEASE BRING APPROPRIATE GEAR

2. You MUST have a minimum of 3 Professional MMA fights to be considered. All records will be verified on sherdog.com & mixedmartialarts.com. If we cannot verify your record on either of these sites you will NOT be eligible to tryout.

3. You must be between the ages of 21 and 34 years of age and have the legal ability to live and work in the United States.

4. If you are not a US citizen, you must obtain a criminal activity or background report by an appropriate law enforcement agency or certified criminal reporting agency of your country of residence and send the report by or before May 22, 2018 via…

Cris Cyborg’s first two fights in the UFC were at a 140-pound catchweight. She has since defended her title twice. In her 22-fight career, Cyborg has only lost once, and all but three of her 20 wins have come by way of knockout.

Long story short: anyone who gets signed to the UFC’s Featherweight division is going to have one heck of a time taking down its champion.
