The UFC Apex hosted a card full of finishes on Saturday, with the heavyweight main event ending in a 1st-round TKO in Volkov’s favor.
The two exchanged some heavy blows, with Rozenstruik stumbling Volkov about halfway into the round. Almost immediately after, Volkov landed a hard left hand that hurt Rozenstruik and sent his mouthpiece flying. As Volkov continued with a flurry of punches, Rozenstruik dropped to a knee and referee Herb Dean stopped the fight.
Volkov’s record improves to 35-10 with 23 wins by KO/TKO.
In the co-main event, veteran #10-ranked flyweight Dan Ige fell to #13 Movsar Evloev via unanimous decision, with Evloev’s undefeated record improving to 16-0. Evloev showed exactly why he continues to climb the ranks, as he dominated the fight in every aspect. Landing heavy flying knees, exceptional combos, and high-level grappling was his path to victory. But Ige was no easy opponent, dragging Evloev through deep waters. Ige seemed unstoppable as he continued to eat Evloev’s shots, and continued to attack submissions and look for opportunities until the very end of the fight.
Out of 14 fights, the card boasted 9 finishes in the form of 4 submissions and 5 KO/TKOs.
