Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) is not just a skill that is valuable to fighters inside the ring. It is, in fact, just as useful to fighters outside the ring. The skills a fighter learns in BJJ become even more important in a confrontational situation where a fighter may have to defend himself. This becomes clear in the December 11, 2011 video of BJJ fighter Ryan Hall and an enraged drunk patron at the party he was attending got into an altercation. By the end of the video Ryan Hall was able to complete subdue and render helpless his aggressor, and all without throwing a single punch.
