As many of you know, former Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva will be replacing Jon Jones in the fight against Daniel Cormier.
While this fight will no doubt make for a hell of a scrap, some in the mixed martial arts community have understandably questioned the UFC’s decision to pit the 41-year-old Silva up against Cormier on only days notice.
After all, Cormier is not only the champion in the weight class above the one Silva usually fights in, but Anderson recently underwent gallbladder surgery.
So, why was the former Middleweight kingpin chosen over the other fighters vying for the vacant slot left by Daniel Cormier?
