Have you ever seen a Jiu-Jitsu demonstration from 1919? We’re willing to bet that you haven’t. Apparently, that video exists without sound or context. This video depicts two well-dressed gentlemen practicing various Jiu-Jitsu moves. The moves resemble Jiu-Jitsu at the very least.
Each gentleman takes the time to readjust his coat after each move, which is a nice touch. Then again, that same sophistication would make today’s MMA seem a little boring to fans. Watching two gentlemen throw each other around with a few theatrics thrown in is more than amusing and interesting.
See the action below; you won’t be disappointed!
Pretty sure this wasn’t jiu jitsu but a French martial art… Unless you feel that jiu jitsu generalizes all grappling arts regardless of origins… Still reminds me more of hapkido more than anything though.
