Third Coast Grappling is back in action tonight with an event that people have been getting excited about for weeks.
The promotion is hosting its first Kumite-style event, which will be an eight-man tournament featuring some of the best grappling talent from Texas and beyond.
The promotion will provide a $10k prize to the winner of the -180lb tournament, which will include Roberto Jimenez, Jaime Canuto, William Tackett, Gabriel Arges, Gustavo Batista, Manuel Ribamar, and Jake Watson on the card.
The event will also include multiple superfights and even a kids’ tag team match.
The card combines established World champions like Arges and Batista with some of the top up-and-comers in the grappling world, such as Jimenez and Tackett. With the level of talent on a card like this, there’s truly no telling who might come out on top. Although it’s easy to assume that the top-level competitors with years of black belt experience will be in the finals, both Tackett and Jimenez have proven that they can handle themselves against opponents who are older and more experienced than they are. No matter who wins the grand prize, they’ll have their work cut out for them on the way to the top.
3CG: Kumite will take place tonight at 8 pm in Houston, TX and can be streamed live on FloGrappling.
