There is no doubt about it that the earliest days of mixed martial arts were the most brutal period of time for the entire history of the sport. The early days of MMA with hair pulling and headbutts were commonplace in the UFC, plus any other organization at the time. The fights would be like sanctioned street fights inside the cage, with little to no rule set in place at the time. However, when Dana White and the Fertitta Brothers to over the UFC over a decade ago, the rule changes they would help implement would help steer the course of the sport to a much better place.
