Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt Amanda Nunes Dominates Tate For Easy First-Round Submission

It seemed like a short, easy, and rewarding night for Amanda Nunes.

Though Tate shuffled outside the range of Nunes and utilized her wrestling to score and early takedown, the rest of the round was all Amanda.

The Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt and American Top Team member rocked Tate with heavy rights and lefts, bloodying the former champion’s face.  Yet it was an RNC – the very same move Tate used to strip the belt from Holly Holm’s waist – that made Nunes the first Brazilian  UFC women’s bantamweight champion.

Official decision: Amanda Nunes def. Miesha Tate via first round submission (rear-naked choke)
