Gabi Garcia — Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt and undefeated MMA fighter — said she almost died cutting weight for her Rizin fight against Shinobu Kandori.
“I decide not cut weight because I feeling like I almost died. You understand?” Gabi told TMZ.
Gabi explained that when she got into the hot tub during her weight cut, she was having trouble seeing. She described it as “everything dark.”
Garcia said she felt terrible about having to drop out of her fight against her opponent, Shinobu Kandori, at Rizin on New Year’s Eve, but she accepted responsibility for not making weight, saying it was her fault.
