Garry “The Lion Killer” Tonon wants a match with Kron Gracie, and he wants it badly!
Earlier today, Tonon tweeted to Rizin’s staff that he was willing to fight Kron Gracie for free at Rizin.
@rizin_STAFF I spoke with one of your organizers, I'm offering to fight Kron for free in MMA. I'll give up my purse to him or your event.

About an hour later, he posted that he had some huge news, but did not give give his followers any details.

If the fight does happen, it will neither mark the first time Garry Tonon and Kron Gracie have battled it out, nor will it mark the first time they have done so in Asia. Around four years ago, The Lion Killer and the grandson of the legendary Helio Gracie met on the mats for the ADCC’s 2013 China event. Kron won via rear naked choke.
But how would MMA change the match? Both are relative newcomers to the sport, and as anyone who has switched from BJJ to MMA can tell you, the addition of striking adds an entirely new dimension to the match.
Still, there’s no telling if the match will happen in the first place. And even if it doesn’t, Garry Tonon still has plenty more on his plate.
