Grappling Industries run’s successful NYC Event. Superfight Eddie Cummings vs Mansher Khera goes triple overtime!

On March 12, 2016, Grappling Industries held its Manhattan BJJ GI & Ne Gi Round Robin Tournament at Baruch College in Midtown Manhattan.    The tournament had men, women as well as a huge showing for kids.   Even with 12 open mats and smooth running of the event; the huge turnout of 475 competitors forced the event to run overtime.

The largest turnout was in the Blue to Purple belt division, the white belts, and the kids aged 15 and under division.  The absolute and open divisions were also very popular.  The event featured cash prizes for featured divisions including winner Aaron Johnson in the black belt absolute division winning $300.00.  The Superfight between Eddie Cummings and Mansher Khera which was submission only went into 3 overtimes and lasted 40 minutes.   In the end, the match went to a referee’s decision with the winner being Eddie Cummings.  Schools represented included American Top Team, Revolution Montreal, UFC Gym Long Island, Alliance Marcelo, Team Xtreme, Renzo Gracie, Zombie BJJ, Budokan, and more.   In the end, the event did well with no hic-ups and a promise to return to Manhattan.  The next event for Grappling Industries will be at Boca Raton on March 18, 2016 and April 30, 2016 in Chicago.
