In case you haven’t heart yet, actor Halle Berry is making her directorial debut in an upcoming MMA movie that she’s also starring in. Bruised is a film about a disgraced MMA fighter, played by Berry, who has to confront her failures both in the cage and in her parenting. And if you think Berry has been taking it easy just because she’s a glamorous Hollywood star, think again.

Berry has been in the news a few times for getting beaten up while training for the film. But then, that’s what happens when you train with the pros, and Berry has been doing just that, learning from Brian Ortega and working directly with Valentina Shevchenko in the movie itself. It’s not Berry’s first foray into martial arts, either — she also trained jiu-jitsu for her role in John Wick 3.

Now, Berry has said that she even broke a few bones while training with Shevchenko for Bruised. In an interview with Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show, Berry revealed what it’s like to be working and training with the UFC Flyweight Champion, and as you might expect, there’s a good bit of pain mixed in with the fun.

You can watch the interview below. (The segment about Bruised starts at about 6:25.)
