Oh the naysayers, the doubters, and in todays lingo- the haters gonna hate! Jiu-jitsu doesn’t make you money, it doesn’t pay the bills & certainly won’t provide for a family. How many times have you been asked “training again?!” As if you’re headed to rob a bank… People mean well; they worry, they wonder, they constructively criticize that which they do not understand all because they love you & are genuinely concerned for your well-being.
What these people do not understand, cannot possibly comprehend, is all it takes is a seed… a seed which grows into a garden of doubt, self criticism and questioning. What am I doing; all of these hours, these aches and pains, money spent on training & tournaments and whatever else I need to SUCCEED?!
If you’re passionate and have a dream, shake it off! Focus! Grind! Let them question the unquestionable- your DRIVE TO BE SUCCESSFUL. Follow the passion people, follow your heart and allow the naysayers to have small minds while you continue to grow in unimaginable ways. Allow their disbelief to motivate you and be the fuel to your fire.
