Recently, Ryan Hall was asked about martial arts and self-defense. The interviewer asked him his opinion on the best martial art for self defense against an untrained assailant. His response was quite intelligent, and that answer was to use your brain. In answering the question, Hall goes on with various examples of using one’s brain to figure out the situation.
Hall says that people need to read and understand different situations for effective self-defense. He picks Jiu-Jitsu and wrestling as the best arts for defending oneself. Still, he makes the intelligent point that every situation is different. Jiu-Jitsu is his pick, but Hall mentions that people need to figure out each situation in the moment.
