Sage Northcutt and Cody Pfister went head to head on the UFC Fight Night 80 main card in the lightweights division. Pfister landed a takedown as the match began in round one. After the referee intervened at around the three minutes mark, Sage rebounded with a takedown of his own, while Northcutt moved to the mount position to land some solid shots before the round ended. As round two begins, Sage quickly moved in for another takedown, and in one quick transition, has Cody in a deep submission by guillotine choke. Cody was forced to tap, and was defeated by Sage at the 0.41 mark of round two in their matchup.
