Snyder Becomes The Youngest US Wrestling World Champion

Despite being ranked number 15 in the world, on Friday Kyle Snyder becomes youngest U.S. world wrestling champion. Not only is he world wrestling champion, but he is also the youngest champion at just 19 years old. Snyder defied all expectations to beat the current champion, Russian Abdusalam Gadisov in Las Vegas, host city for the 2015 championship. Snyder’s next big achievement may well be a medal at next year’s Olympic Games, to be held in Rio de Janeiro in Brazil. He plans to take a break for a year from collegiate wrestling, in order to focus on training for the Olympics.
