Super Sage Northcutt Grinds His Way To A Unanimous Decision

After an embarrassing early tap back in January to Bryan Barberena, Sage Northcutt apparently wanted to put his grappling on display.

In the first round, Sage got top position after being pressed up against the cage. He then took the back and went for a head and arm choke, but was unable to get the arm of his opponent – Enrique Marin – up by his head.

Round 2 saw more grappling action, only this time in Enrique’s favor.  The Spaniard held Sage in side control and transitioned from a Kimura into a armbar.

It looked like Enrique was going to snap Sage’s arm back. However, the 20-year-old Texan struggled his way up to Marin’s guard, but eventually found his way into another kimura-armbar transition before the round ended.

Round 3 was yet more grappling action, ending with Sage going for a front headlock.

Official decision: Sage Northcutt def Enrique Marin via Unanimous Decision
