Top Ten:dirty Gi? Keep it fresh!

Hello hello hello!!! I did it! I dug my way out of the snow and back to civilization ( well not really because I live in the boonies but kind of!). And I’m amongst the living again! I don’t know about you, but snow storm after snow storm, being trapped, literally, for days was just too much. So I conducted an experiment to pass the time. I’d written an article on hygiene and thought I’d help out and test some product to see which would actually 1. Remove stain 2. Stink and 3. Leave a Gi smelling fresh not like a week old soggy diaper!
Number 1 being the best and 10 performing ok but in comparison was just so-so overall.
10) baking soda & vinegar. I also added lemon. Gi came out clean, fresh, and stink free. Also great for people with skin issues.
9. Arm & Hammer laundry detergent
8. Store Brand detergent (I tried a few different types)
7. Purex
6. All
5. Ajax
4. Era
3. Cheer
2. Tide
And for number one I was actually surprised. And I’ll admit to conduct this experiment I had sample lying around. There could be better or worse out there. And also, let’s remember the important thing is to wash your training stuff every day! No one wants to remember you as the person who started the staph epidemic at your school. Drum roll please!
1. Gain! Any and all scents, forms (liquid, powder, pod). This stuff is amazing! I washed my Gis, and after drying- line dry or in the dryer- them they smelled like spring! (Sorry all you macho men).
I hope this is helpful!

Keep training!
