UFC Hall of Famer Bas Rutten demonstrates the two techniques for escaping a standing rear naked choke. In the co-main event for UFC 196, Holly Holm was caught in a standing rear naked choke by Miesha Tate. With the choke cinched, Holm attempted to throw Holm over her shoulder and landed on the ground in a more disadvantageous position as Tate had her back with both hooks locked in with the choke.
