There is an ongoing debate between fight fans about which style of martial arts is the most effective. Judo and jiu jitsu are two styles that are closely related, and often compared to one another. Recently, a video was posted online showing a match between a black belt Judoka and MMA and jiu jitsu supremo BJ Penn. It is well worth watching, if you appreciate the technical aspects of the sport. Needless to say, BJ Penn demonstrates the effectiveness of his style fairly comprehensively. Perhaps episodes like this are partly the reason why the International Judo Federation does not allow its’ fighters compete in different grappling styles.
