Jiu-jitsu is often promoted as a self-defense tool, especially for emergency workers who need to keep themselves and suspects safe if an interaction takes a wrong turn. More and more police departments are implementing BJJ into their training programs to give officers a means of protection without feeling like they have to resort to deadly force, and now, one Denver police officer is sharing her story about how jiu-jitsu helped keep her safe.
