Khabib Nurmagomedov’s Father Reportedly In Medically Induced Coma Again, On Life Support

UFC champion Khabib Nurmagomedov’s father, Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, has reportedly taken a turn for the worse in his current health struggle, according to Russian news outlet RT.

According to the report, Abdulmanap is once again in a medically induced coma and now “unable to breathe unassisted.” The development comes after a tumultuous week for the fighter’s father, who was first placed into a medically induced coma last week after suffering symptoms of pneumonia. In a bit of encouraging news, he soon woke up from the coma, but he was still unable to speak or move.

Days ago, Khabib stated in an Instagram video that his father’s struggle is related to a positive COVID-19 diagnosis, which is causing complications for Abdulmanap’s pre-existing heart problems. Khabib also said that he had additional personal experiences with the virus as well, saying that many people close to him have contracted the illness.

Multiple people in the MMA community, including Khabib’s famous rival Conor McGregor, have expressed their support. Khabib’s manager, Ali Abdelaziz, also says that Russian president Vladimir Putin has also reached out to express his support for the family.
