Nick ‘Chewy’ Albin: Setting Up Takedowns

Takedowns are some of the hardest moves for jiu-jitsu practitioners to pull off. In fact, for some people, they’re not just not even worth the effort – hence the reason many jiu-jitsu practitioners have earned the somewhat insulting title of “guard puller.”

But you should learn takedowns. Not only will they help you in a street fight, but they are good for competitions.

In this video, second-degree BJJ black bent Nick “Chewy” Albin shows viewers what foot movements he is looking for from his opponent before attempting a takedown. Does his opponent have one foot out? Are both his feet together?

If you’re looking to improve your takedown skills – and you should be – check out this video!
