Boxer Asks BJJ Instructor For An “Arrogance Check,” Gets What He Asked For

There are still a lot of people out there who either don’t believe that jiu-jitsu works or simply want to learn how much it works.

One man who claimed to be an experienced boxer wanted that humbling experience when he walked into Japan’s Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Osaka. According to the Gracie Breakdown video that documented the man’s experience, he took a Gracie Combatives class, then asked instructor Tyrone Bess if his techniques would work if the opponent were throwing punches. The results speak for themselves, and thankfully, the jiu-jitsu newbie seemed to be impressed and grateful after the experience. Check it out!

👊🏽CHALLENGE MATCH👊🏽European guy shows up at our CTC, Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Osaka, in Japan. After his first Gracie Combatives class, he reveals that he’s an experienced boxer and questions whether or not jiu-jitsu would work on him if he were throwing punches. One of the instructors, Tyrone Bess accepts the challenge…twice. After 25 years of @UFC you wouldn’t expect these people to exist anymore, but they do, and the reaction is always the same: After the first loss, let me try that again. After the second loss, where to I sign up?
