After a rare week of rest, Fight 2 Win is back in action. This weekend at their 106th event, the stakes are high. The Fort Lauderdale event will include five title matches, and all the excitement will culminate in a match that will see Roberto “Cyborg” Abreu taking the stage for the first time in nearly 100 events.

Cyborg’s last (and only) F2W appearance took place in 2016 at F2W 7, where he lost to Rafael Lovato Jr. by referee decision. Recently, though, he’s been on a tear, putting on impressive performances at events like King of the Mats and last year’s No-Gi Worlds. This time around, he’ll be going up against Checkmat’s Luiz Panza, who’s won gold at Pans (in gi and no-gi) and Worlds. This is Panza’s first time competing for the promotion, and seeing these two go up against each other will provide a rare treat for fans of these grapplers.

The co-main event will be a black belt gi flyweight title match between Talita Alencar and Karen Antunes. Antunes is coming off an impressive performance at this year’s Pans, resulting in a silver medal. She won the event (along with Worlds) last year, and a victory against Alencar at F2W 106 would be another impressive accomplishment to add to her record. Alencar, however, is perhaps just as likely to come away with the win. She is also a Worlds and Pans champion, and as the current title holder, she’s already proven herself on the F2W stage. Given the skill level of both athletes, we can expect this to be a close match.

Just a few matches before, keep an eye out for Alexandre “Pulga” Pimentel vs. Rafael “Formiga” Barbosa. The two will be competing for the master gi welterweight title, but the winner won’t have long to bask in the glory of their victory. Just two weeks later at F2W 108, the title will once again be up for grabs, with the reigning champion going up against Daniel Tavares.
