After a multi-week hiatus that gave the team some well-deserved rest, Fight 2 Win is back this weekend with their first event of 2020. And of course, we can expect the promotion’s typical stacked main card to start this year off with a bang as F2W 134 kicks off in Arizona tonight.
The main event of the night is a highly anticipated match between Marcio Andre and Benson Henderson. This will mark Andre’s fourth time competing for the promotion, and he’ll be looking to strengthen his 2-1 Fight 2 Win record by getting a win over the Bellator fighter. But anyone who’s paid attention to Henderson’s career knows that his martial arts expertise doesn’t just shine when there’s kicking and punching involved — he made it to the podium at 2014 No-Gi Worlds and has experience competing for both Polaris and F2W. Will his grappling skills be enough to bring down Andre, who is a No-Gi World Champion himself? We’ll have to see in their 170lb no-gi match.
The co-main event is a black belt 125lb gi title between highly decorated athletes Karen Antunes and Talita Alencar. Both competitors are World Champions in both gi and no-gi, and they’ve also both won Pans in the past. These grapplers are both F2W favorites, and their matchup is well-made — we’re sure to see a highly technical battle worthy of the belt.
As always, the rest of the card will be stacked with local talent, making this night in Phoenix, AZ, a guaranteed night to remember for those watching and competing.
