Fight 2 Win has changed the professional grappling game over the past few years with their high-energy events and impressive matchups. Tomorrow, they’ll do it yet again when they add their first ever judo match to one of their events at F2W 101.

F2W CEO Seth Daniels announced the development last month and included the news that Olympian Ryan Reser and former Mexican national judo team member Javier Torres would be the first judokas to face off on the stage. Their match will open the door to what is likely to be many other judo matches at F2W, with a more liberal ruleset that encourages the type of action Fight 2 Win fans like to see.

Torres shared his thoughts on the landmark event with the Jiu-Jitsu Times: “I’m so pumped to be [a part of] the first [judo match at Fight 2 Win]. Blessed to have this kind of opportunity and more to do against Ryan. He’s been there — he went to the Olympics. I’m expecting fireworks, so I will bring my A-game. He will bring the best judo out of me. I think it’s a game-changer for good to bring the old judo back with a little twist!”

F2W 101 will also feature plenty of the jiu-jitsu matches that fans love and expect when they make their return to their home of Colorado, but if you’re an experienced judoka or have simply had your interest piqued by the sport, this will be a can’t-miss event. As always, if you can’t attend F2W in person, you can stream it live on FloGrappling.
