Fight 2 Win is approaching their 150th event, and they won’t be holding back for this milestone card.
Following up an action-packed night at F2W 149 that saw Luiza Monteiro claim the black belt featherweight gi title and Gabriel Almeida taking home a big main event win against Manuel Ribamar, the promotion is back a week later and has already announced a pair of exciting matches to cap off the night.
The promotion has announced their main and co-main events for F2W 150, and jiu-jitsu legend Romulo Barral is involved. Barral, a multiple-time world champion who won ADCC in 2013, will be making his F2W debut in the main event. He’ll be taking on Tanner Rice, who will be competing for the promotion for the first time in 2020. This will be Barral’s competitive debut this year, but he’s coming off the momentum of a win against Jake Shields at 3rd Coast Grappling III in 2019. This will be the fifth F2W appearance for Rice, who won American Nationals in 2015, and a victory against Barral would be arguably the most significant win of his career.
The co-main event will feature a match between Marcio Andre and Ronaldo Junior. Andre is currently 2-2 for the promotion, defeating both Kennedy Maciel and Benson Henderson atop the superfight stage. He’ll have his work cut out for him against Junior, though, who has also competed for the promotion a handful of times. Though Junior has only been a black belt for a little over a year, he’s proven himself to be a force to be reckoned with and was recently chosen to compete at Who’s Number One against Gordon Ryan (though Ryan was diagnosed with COVID-19 and replaced by Vagner Rocha). This will be a great match between two formidable athletes, and grappling fans would be wise to make sure they don’t miss it.
